RENEWING THE BODY OF CHRIST
Renewal: Can there be any doubt that the body of Christ – the church – needs to be revitalized? Once again, as with the early Christians, Christ’s teachings must be activated and given prominence.
Consider for a moment the great despair that fills the hearts of countless millions who attend churches around your city, the nation, even the world. There are high rates of divorce among Christians. Chemical dependency, pornography addiction, and many other afflictions of the spirit plague many Christians. The 21st century American church seems to foster fewer true conversions, less conviction, and a less authentic Christian community than most souls are seeking. Tragically, many church-goers today have no idea that their home church manifests only small disjointed pieces of biblical truth and forsakes the clearly communicated commands of Scripture.
